Perspective

Yesterday we went to the Imperial War Museum. To be honest, it was really difficult to get through. Probably because one of the first things I did was go to the Crimes Against Humanities exhibit and watch this 30 min film about genocide all over the world. It was tough. But it was one of those experiences that really opened my eyes. It honesty made me realize I need to change my perspective on a lot of things in my own life. After the film, I tried going to other parts of the museum, but the film was just so heavy and I really couldn't get it out of my head. So we decided we should just leave and get some food. On our way out, we walked past this little peace garden. We all just sat in silence for a while. It was much needed and really helped me sift through a lot of things that were going through my head.

We had lunch in a nice little english restaurant. We then did some reading/took naps and went to a movie that night. Nothing too exciting. That museum though definitely impacted me for good though.

Today, we had class and then ran off to buy lots of tickets for various events we want to go to this week. We got tickets to see spiderman (which was AWESOME). We found a theater that did half price tuesdays so that was a plus. We got tickets to go see the Royal Ballet tomorrow, we have Les Miserables on Thursday, and Wicked again next week. We were all over the place, and wound up at the Tate Modern. I was so tired though, and Jace and I agreed we didn't think we could do a museum right now. So we decided we wanted to find some fruit so we walked... for forever.... but we finally found a little shop! Then we found a little park thingy and sat and ate.

It would have been a lot more quaint if the street wasn't right next to us... We met up with Nick, Laura and Jonathan and we headed down to Brick Lane to find some dinner. Brick Lane is so cool! It's mostly Indian restaurants and people stand outside and try to get you to come to their restaurants by bargaining with you.

The place we finally decided on, offered us a starter, curry, and rice or nan and free drinks for 7 pounds. Which is a steal. I wasn't expecting much. Oh. My. Gosh. Literally probably one of the best Indian meals I have had. it was delicious!!! It took about an hour to finally get our food, and I think we ate it in like 5 minutes. I'm going back.

it took a lot longer than we thought, so we had to hurry across town to get to the theater to meet up with the group for Spiderman. It was a close call, but after sprinting to the tube station, figuring out the line we wanted wasn't coming, sprinting a few blocks to a farther one, getting on, riding for a few minutes, changing lines, 11 more stops, and then running 3 blocks to the theater, we made it with time to spare. I was really sweaty though. Gross. And I have a blister on my heel now. And to top it off, after the movie I realized I had lost my voice since I have been coughing so much. i'm just trying to convince myself that I'm fine. There is no way I'm getting sick in London.

But yeah. I still love it here but I miss everyone who is reading this!
